Scholarships offered by the Government of Mexico

On February 15, 2006, the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs opened its general Call for Applications for Scholarships 2007, through which the Government of Mexico offers scholarships to foreign students and researchers enabling them to carry out postgraduate studies or specialized research activities at Mexican institutions with relevant academic prestige.

This Call for Applications for Scholarships will close on 31 July, 2006, with the exception of some special programmes which will remain open until 30 November, 2006 (check details).

Mexico holds a dual condition in the field of international cooperation, both as recipient and supplier. This enables our country  not only to ask for aid from more developed nations, but also to offer assistance to nations of lesser development, and to work within the frame of "horizontal cooperation" with countries of similar development as our own.

Mexico considers dialogue between nations as a source of enrichment of its own culture and  identity. For this reason, the development of human resources is of the highest importance. The Call for Applications for Scholarships 2007 includes 102 different academic programmess that embrace almost all areas of knowledge and that imply direct participation of different high level Mexican educational institutions, both public and private.

Contents and detailed information on this Call for Applications for Scholarships 2007 can be found at the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs' website: http://becas.sre.gob.mx, or by visiting  the Embassy of Mexico in Singapore: 152 Beach Road, #06-07/08, Singapore 189721.
